Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Nov, 2016 ) : Three ships CMA CGM Maupassant, Atlantic Glory and New Confidence carrying containers, chemicals, and diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Thursday.
Meanwhile another container ship CSAV Tokono also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 53% for second consecutive where a total of eight ships CMA CGM Maupassant,t Maersk Stepnica, Thai Binh Bey, Ping An Song, Unico Sienna, Ardmore Duntless, Atlantic Glory and New Confidence are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, project cargo, fertilizer, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood 149,276 tonnes, comprising 77,622 tonnes import cargo and 71,654 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 5,514 containers TEUs) 1,845 imports TUEs & 3,664 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.
Two ships, CMA CGM Maupassant and Ping An Song Sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships Thai Binh Bey and Maersk Stepnica are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Three ships, CSAV Tokono, Uni Florida and DIyaa-B scheduled to load/offload containers and 22,500 tonnes cement are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Multipurpose Terminal respectively on Friday.
While another container ship San Toconoa is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day. LNG carrier Al-Kharsaah is due to arrive on Saturday.
