Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (FS&HFA) Swat sealed two ice cream and two oil and ghee factories in various parts of the city by imposing Rs 400,000 fines on each factory besides imposed heavy fines on food outlets for selling unhygienic food to consumers, said by Divisional Deputy Director Asad Qasim.
SWAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2018 ) :Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (FS&HFA) Swat sealed two ice cream and two oil and ghee factories in various parts of the city by imposing Rs 400,000 fines on each factory besides imposed heavy fines on food outlets for selling unhygienic food to consumers, said by Divisional Deputy Director Asad Qasim.
He was addressing to a press conference here on Wednesday at Swat Press Club. On this occasion Assistant Commissioner Amir Ali Shah, Swat Traders federation president Abdur Rahim, District Nazim Swat Muhammad Ali Shah and Assistant Director Halal food Murad was also present.
Halal food team headed by deputy director and assistant directors operations raided couple of sub standards cooking oil and ghee factories in different localities of the city. The team found expired ingredients used in manufacturing process while unhygienic items were also recovered during the raid and sealed both the factories.
Asad Qasim said that (FS&HFA) is working in the district from March 19 and during one month we have improved 95% of food quality in the district, as we have examined 400 hotels, bakeries and restaurants where 120 food outlets were fined.
Assistant Commissioner, Amir Ali Shah said the district administration is fully supporting the (FS&HFA) mission and we will provide assistance to more strengthen the food authority. Addressing on the occasion Traders Federation President, Abdur Rahim said that we welcomed the food authority staff if they are doing efforts for good cause we will extend our full support to curb the selling of unhygienic materials in the local market and those who found guilty should be punished.
