LHC Orders Release Of 24 Kiln Workers

LAHORE,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -29th Augst,2016) -The Lahore High Court on Monday ordered release of 24 kiln workers including 4 women and 15 children who were recovered from a Aminabad kiln. Justice Alia Neelum passed these orders while hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Ghulam Muhammad,a relative of the labourers,for their release.
Earlier, a bailiff produced the kiln workers before the court after recovering them from custody of brick kiln owner, Sher Ali.
The bailiff reported that the workers had been detained by the kiln owner. On this,the court ordered release of all the workers including women and children. The petitioner through his petition alleged that the respondent owner was gettting forced labour from the workers.He prayed the court to issue orders for their release.
