Speaker KP assembly directs immediate resolution to gas related problems

Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has directed the higher authorities of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline limited (SNGPL) to resolve the issues of low pressure and unannounced load shedding in Abbottabad and other areas of Hazara Division with immediate effect.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2018 ) :Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has directed the higher authorities of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline limited (SNGPL) to resolve the issues of low pressure and unannounced load shedding in Abbottabad and other areas of Hazara Division with immediate effect.

He said that since the beginning of winter three to six hours unannounced gas shedding was continued in the region and the people had to face hardships.

He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting relating to Sui gas in different districts of Hazara Division including Abbottabad here in Provincial Assembly Secretariat Thursday. Besides, General Manager (GM) Sui gas Arbab Saqib, Regional Manager (Abbottabad), Mukhtiar Shah, Deputy Chief Engineer, Faisal Ishaq, Shafqat Virk (SNGPL), Lahore and District Councilor Rana Safdar Jamal were also present on the occasion.

The meeting discussed in detail the installation of gas equipment and supply of gas and pace of work on survey in Sherwan, Galiyat, Mansehra, Banda, Pir Khan, Kakul, Havilian and other areas.

The Speaker directed the Sui gas authorities that the provision of gas to mountainous areas would not only provide gas facility to the people rather would help to stopped massive cutting of trees.

He said that billion Tree Tsunami Project has increased forest covered area, but larger number of people, due to lack of gas connection in Hazara division, were burning woods in their houses.

Mushtaq Ghani said that Hazara division was like paradise for domestic and foreign tourists. But, the tourists, due to severe shortage of gas in winter, were hesitating to visit the area which inflicting huge financial losses on the tourism sector and hotel industry.

He directed the SNGPL authorities for conducting survey for gas supply scheme to those areas of the provincial assembly constituency PK-39, which were lacking connections within a period of one-week to guarantee gas connections in these localities.

Similarly, he also directed the authorities for the installation of gas equipments and replacement of the outdated and old infrastructure to help overcome the problem of the low gas pressure.

Regarding Chatodi Gali, the authorities informed that funds for the gas supply to the locality had been approved and work on laying line would be started soon. The authorities further told that gas pressure in Abbottabad had been increased by 20 Pounds.

The Speaker also directed the authorities for installation of LPG plant in Nathiagali, whose feasibilitywould be presented shortly. The installation of LPG plant would not only help to improve the pressure of gas in the area rather it would also help to save the wood worth millions of rupees. The plants were not only environment friendly rather would also helpful to ensure better facilities for the people.
