SZABIST Larkana Campus 11th Convocation Held�s

LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jan, 2017 ) : The 11th Annual Convocation of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) Larkana Campus was held at College auditorium on Saturday evening.
Sindh Minister for food and Parliamentary Affairs Nisar Ahmed Khuhro was the chief guest at the ceremony, attended by a large number of students, parents and teachers, members of the institute's board of governors and board of trustees.
The Chancellor of SZABIST Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, inaugurated the convocation and later degrees were awarded among the 63 passing out graduates and 32 postgraduate students from the disciplines of MBA and BBA.
On the occasion Nisar Ahmed Khuhro awarded Gold Medals to the students and 10 students' Names were placed in the "Chancellor's Honours List". The Chief Guest Senior Sindh Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro emphasized the importance of higher education and the significance of research and development for the progress of the country.
In her speech, the Chancellor of SZABIST Dr Azra Fazal said that Szabist upholds the legacy of Benazir Bhutto, who was its founding chancellor. She said that Szabist's mission is to work for the betterment of the country and its people and to contribute towards earning a prominent place for Pakistan in the comity of nations.
She pointed out that Szabist was established with the objective to produce highly qualified personnel to help meet the country's requirements, adding that the university has become an institute of excellence.
"Science and technology holds the key to economic growth and social development," she said, adding that it is necessary to prepare a population that is not only knowledgeable and skilled but it is also aware of its responsibilities and is also willing to contribute to the growth of the nation as well as the well-being of the society.
Dr. Azra Pechuho said that Szabist has allocated a substantial percentage of its funds towards research and development. She also congratulated the graduates on their achievements and admired their unrelenting commitment in the completion of their degree.
SZABIST is a fully chartered institute and recognized by the Higher Education Commission as a degree granting institution. It has campuses in Karachi, Islamabad, Larkana and Dubai. It is a registered member of the International Association of Universities, Paris; Association of Commonwealth Universities, London; Federation of the Universities of Islamic World Rabat; Asia University Federation, Seoul and the Association of SAARC Universities.
