All Main Rivers Flowing Normal, Moderate Moist Currents Penetrating: FFC

Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has reported all main Rivers Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal amid moderate moist currents penetrating into prevailing weather system.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Sep, 2018 ) :Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has reported all main Rivers Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal amid moderate moist currents penetrating into prevailing weather system.
According to daily FFC report on Friday, actual river flows and reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela Dam is at 1538.18 feet and Mangla reservoir at 63.60 feet below its maximum conservation level (MAL) of 1242 feet which is 1178.40.
Present combined live storage of three reservoirs which is 8.577 million acre feet (MAF) (62.69 per cent of the total storage capacity of 13.681 MAF).
According to Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), Lahore, marked Seasonal Low lies over Northern Balochistan and bringing in moderate moist currents from Arabian Sea into the upper parts of Pakistan upto 5000 feet.
"Yesterday's trough of Westerly Wave continues to prevail over Northern parts of the country", the report added.
For the next 24 hours, FFD has predicted scattered wind thunderstorm or rain with isolated heavy falls and one or two very heavy falls over the upper catchments of all main Rivers i.
e. Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej, besides over Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha and D.G. Khan Divisions) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Peshawar and D.I. Khan Divisions).
Isolated thunderstorm or rain may also occur over Punjab (Faisalabad and Lahore Divisions) during the same period and the same situation may occur over the upper catchment of River Indus alongwith Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Lahore Divisions of Punjab and Malakand and Hazara Divisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the same period, the report said.
According to FFD, Lahore, current wet spell is likely to continue during next 48 hours. As a result, flows in Rivers Jhelum and Chenab and tributaries (Local Nullahs) of Rivers Ravi and Chenab alongwith Hill Torrents of D.G. Khan Divisions are likely to increase during the same period.
