DigiSkills Programme Approved To Train One Mln Youth: MoIT

ISLAMABAD, July 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Jul, 2017 ) : National ICT Research and Development Fund board Friday approved rolling out of DigiSkills Programme to impart training to one million youth in Pakistan.
Re-tendering of National Incubation Center (NIC), Quetta was also approved. Contracts for three Incubation Centers, to be built at Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar have already been awarded to consortiums led by LUMS, TPL Trakker and LMKT respectively.
Minister of State for Information Technology & Telecommunications, Anusha Rehman chaired the 53rd Board of Directors meeting. She said establishment of new Technology Incubation Centers across all four provinces will enable young entrepreneurs to innovate while the DigiSkills Programme will help them earn reasonable livelihood as freelancers.
The minister said main policy focus is to provide quality digital and skill development training to youth of the country and in this regard the ministry was committed to providing them all appropriate fora and tools through which they can get quality training to succeed in growing global freelancing market.
Secretary IT, Rizwan Bashir Khan, Member Telecom Mudassar Hussain, Member Human Resource, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ICT R&D Fund, Yossaf Hassan and other Board members attended the meeting.
