Foggy conditions to engulf plain areas of Punjab, upper Sindh

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jan, 2019 ) :Foggy conditions will continue to engulf plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh till the next rain spell which is likely on January 30 or 31, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Talking to APP, Rashid Bilal who is a weather expert at PMD said, "Foggy conditions would prevail in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during the next four to five days".

Indicating chances of rain by the end of January, he said, "PMD is expecting chances of rain at various parts of the country by end of the month after which the intensity of fog will reduce at the places where rain would occur".

Rashid Bilal said fog appears in some places during the night time, turns into dense after 4:00 am in morning and starts reducing after 10:00 am.

About duration of Winter season this year, he said, it looks that Winter season will be prolonged this year and cold weather will prevail till March due to on and off rain spells likely in February and March.

According to the PMD, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.

Foggy conditions are likely in�plain areas of Punjab�and upper Sindh�during�night and morning�hours.

The synoptic situation says that continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country.

The rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours was Balochistan: Lasbella, Khuzdar 05 mm, Kalat 04, Panjgur 01, Quetta trace, Sindh:Jaccobabad, Dadu 03, Larkana 01, Karachi (Masroor 01, Airport Trace), Moenjodaro, Padidan, Sukkur Trace .

The lowest minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Skardu -16 C, Kalam -15 C, Astore -13 C, Bagrote -12 C, Gupis -10 C, Hunza -09 C, Malamjabba -08 C, Drosh -06 C, Rawalakot, Dir -05 C, Mirkhani, Parachinar, Kalat -04 C, Quetta, Kakul -03 C, Zhob, Gilgit, Chitral, Murree -02 C and Chillas and Garidupatta -01 C.
