ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024

ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 is the first-ever tournament by ICC that includes 20 teams and 55 matches. Also, it is the first time another country besides West Indies in the Americas is hosting a cricket tournament. USA, Canada, and Uganda are appearing in a T20 World Cup for the first time, with USA being the host and the other two teams qualifying after competing in the regional qualifiers.

The 9th ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 starts on 1st June 2024, with 20 teams divided into four groups of five teams each. The opening match is between the host country, the United States of America, and Canada from Group A. Each team plays four matches, against other teams in its group, and the top two teams on the points table of each group qualify for the Super 8s Round.

Eight teams in Super 8s will be divided into two groups of four teams each. They will compete against other teams in the group, and the top two teams on the points table in each group qualify for the semifinals. Furthermore, the semifinal winners will play The Final Match, and we will have a new T20 World Champion on 29 June 2024.

T20 World Cup 2024 Teams

This time, 20 teams are participating in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, with four more teams than the previous T20 World Cup edition. Two teams are selected for the tournament as the host nations. Eight teams qualified to play T20 World Cup 2024 based on their performance in the previous edition. Two more teams made their way to the 9th T20 World Cup based on the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings as of 14 November 2022. The other eight teams are selected from the regional qualifiers, with two each from Europe Qualifier, Asia Qualifier, and Africa Qualifier, and one each from East Asia-Pacific Qualifier and the Americas Qualifier.

The top teams will not play the Super 8s directly as they did in the Super 12s in the previous edition but will compete with the other teams in the group stage. This way, every team gets an equal chance to prove their performance and advance in the tournament.

T20 World Cup 2024 Group Stage

There are 20 teams in the T20 World Cup 2024 group stage divided into four groups. Each team plays against the other four teams in its group; there will be 40 matches in the group stage. These matches will continue from 1 to 17 June 2024 at all nine T20 World Cup 2024 locations.

T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8s

Two teams from each group in the group stage will advance to Super 8s. There will be two groups in the Super 8s consisting of four teams each. Each team faces three other teams from its Super 8s group; there will be 12 matches. These matches will continue from 19 to 24 June 2024 at the North Sound, Bridgetown, Gros Islet, and Kingstown.

T20 World Cup 2024 Semifinals

The top two teams from both groups of the Super 8s will qualify for the semifinals. The semifinal matches will be played on 26 and 27 June 2024 at Brian Lara Cricket Academy, San Fernando, and Providence Stadium, Providence.

T20 World Cup 2024 Final Match

The semifinal winners will face each other in the T20 World Cup 2024 Final Match. The Final Match will be played on 29 June 2024 at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown.
