
CPWB Hands Over Another Child To Parents

LAHORE,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Augst,2016) : The family tracing team of Child Protection & Welfare Bureau (CPWB) on Monday handed over another 10-years-old run-away child to his parents in Pattoki. According to a spokesman for the CPWB, Ahad, son of Shabbir, came to Lahore from Pattoki, some days ago.
The police came across him and shifted him to the Open Reception Centre of the CPWB, set up at Railway Station. The staff sent him to the CPWB head office and launched search for his parents.
Later on, coming to know about an FIR, registered by parents of Ahad, the CPWB established a contact and handed him over to his parents.
The CPWB has so far handed over 3420 run-away and street children to their parents during the first seven months of 2016.
The Lahore office handed over 686 children, Faisalabad 481, Gujranwala 727, Multan 445, Rawalpindi 602, Sialkot 338 and Bahawalpur office sent 141 children to their homes during this period. The department still holds 147 children at its offices, set up in different cities, and efforts are being made to send them to their parents.
