Independence Day Celebrated In Sindh University

The 71st Independence Day was celebrated at the main campus of the University of Sindh, Jamshoro amid an unprecedented excitement filled atmosphere.

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Aug, 2018 ) :The 71st Independence Day was celebrated at the main campus of the University of Sindh, Jamshoro amid an unprecedented excitement filled atmosphere.

The celebrations were held in the university throughout the day as episode after episode of unrivalled events, featuring far-out festivities were put to display at Hyder Bux Jatoi Pavilion, Arts Faculty Ground and other prominent points --- a truly superlative occurrence loaded with unsurpassed love for land became the order of the day.

The events, as were lined up for this special spectacular day, commenced with the solemn ceremony of flag-hoisting amid deafening slogans of "Naara-e-Takbeer- Allah-o- Akbar' 'Pakistan- Zindaabad' and 'Dil Dil Pakistan- Jan Jan Pakistan".

The Deans, academic and administrative heads and staff, faculty, employees and students in great numbers joined the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat in unfurling the proud flag; which was followed by distinguished display of 200 meter-long flag of Pakistan with adorned star and charismatic crescent alluring all hearts; in form of a massive rally led by Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat from Vice Chancellor's House to Hyder Bux Jatio Pavilion a good 500 meter distance.

The other enchanting attributes of the celebration included thematically- relevant skits, cultural dance performances, rendition of songs, presentation of tableaus by pupils of SOS Children's Village Jamshoro, SPAS Model school Jamshoro, Dr. N.A Baloch Model School Hyderabad; march past by alert contingents of Sindh Police and SU security wing, sports competitions, speeches, cricket match between VC- Faculty elevens, theatre, concert and other jubilant activities with collaborative animated participation of all varsity stakeholders.

The Vice Chancellor in his remarks said that Pakistan was their pride, identity, love and land that had come into being on account of innumerable sacrifices by their elders. "The day reminds us of the formidable pre-independence hardships our elders had to encounter to seek a separate independent state for us. It reminds us of their inspiring struggle", he said and added, it brings before us the unforgettable commitment, conviction and success of our leaders under the awe-inspiring leadership of Quid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The Vice Chancellor further maintained that it became collective obligation of all to serve Pakistan to the best of their ability, acumen, conscience and individual integrity.

The Commissioner Hyderabad Division, Abdul Waheed Shaikh who was the chief guest asserted that the day obligated them to salute their benefactors because of whose indefatigable struggle they then breathed in an independent state.

The DIG Hyderabad Mr.Sultan Khuwaja remarked that only slaves would be able to tell the agony of slavery. He said they all, as Pakistanis, were lucky to have their own homeland.

The others who attended the ceremony included Wing Commander, Pakistan Rangers Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ashraf, Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Ms. Shazia Qazi, SSP Jamshoro Bahsir Ahmed Brohi and ASP Jamshoro/ Kotri Suhaee Aziz Talpur.

The additional campuses of University of Sindd at Thatta, Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Larkana and Noshehro Feroz also celebrated the day with immense zeal and zest led by Proi-Vice Chancellors and Focal Persons of respectively.
