Baab Jihad Ke Masail

Narrated Anas: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was cupped. Abu Talhah did the cupping. So he ordered that he be given two Sa' of food, and he spoke to his masters to reduce his taxes. He said: 'The most virtuous of what you treat with is cupping.' Or, he said: 'The best of your treatments is cupping.' [He said:] There are narrations on this topic from 'Ali, Ibn 'Abbas, and Ibn 'Umar. [Abu 'Eisa said:] The Hadith of Anas is a Hasan Sahih. Some of the people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ), and others permitted paying the cupper. This is the view of Ash-Shafi'i.

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سُئِلَ أَنَسٌ عَنْ كَسْبِ الْحَجَّامِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ:‏‏‏‏ احْتَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَحَجَمَهُ أَبُو طَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمَرَ لَهُ بِصَاعَيْنِ مِنْ طَعَامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَلَّمَ أَهْلَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَوَضَعُوا عَنْهُ مِنْ خَرَاجِهِ . وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ مَا تَدَاوَيْتُمْ بِهِ الْحِجَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ إِنَّ مِنْ أَمْثَلِ دَوَائِكُمُ الْحِجَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عُمَرَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَنَسٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَخَّصَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَغَيْرِهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فِي كَسْبِ الْحَجَّامِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ:‏‏‏‏ الشَّافِعِيِّ.

حمید کہتے ہیں کہ   انس رضی الله عنہ سے پچھنا لگانے والے کی کمائی کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا تو انس رضی الله عنہ نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پچھنا لگوایا، اور آپ کو پچھنا لگانے والے ابوطیبہ تھے، تو آپ نے انہیں دو صاع غلہ دینے کا حکم دیا اور ان کے مالکوں سے بات کی، تو انہوں نے ابوطیبہ کے خراج میں کمی کر دی اور آپ نے فرمایا: ”جن چیزوں سے تم دوا کرتے ہو ان میں سب سے افضل پچھنا ہے“ یا فرمایا: ”تمہاری بہتر دواؤں میں سے پچھنا ہے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- انس رضی الله عنہ کی حدیث حسن صحیح ہے، ۲- اس باب میں علی، ابن عباس اور ابن عمر رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں، ۳ - صحابہ کرام وغیرہم میں سے بعض اہل علم نے پچھنا لگانے والے کی اجرت کو جائز قرار دیا ہے۔ یہی شافعی کا بھی قول ہے۔

Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 1940

Narrated Thabit Al-Bunani: Anas bin Malik was asked whether they disliked the cupping for a fasting person. He replied in the negative and said, Only if it causes weakness.

Sahih Muslim Hadith No. 4038

It is narrated on the authority of Humaid that Anas b. Malik was asked about the earnings of the cupper. He said: Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) got himself cupped. His cupper was Abu Taiba and he (the Holy Prophet) commanded to give him two sa's of corn. He (the Holy Prophet) talked with the members of his family and they lightened the burden of Kharaj (tax) from him (i. e. they made remis- sion in the charges of their own accord). He (Allah's Apostle) said: The best (treat- ment) which you take is cupping, or it is the best of your treatments.

Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 5962

Narrated Abu Juhaifa: that he had bought a slave whose profession was cupping. The Prophet forbade taking the price of blood and the price of a dog and the earnings of a prostitute, and cursed the one who took or gave (Riba') usury, and the lady who tattooed others or got herself tattooed, and the picture-maker.

Sahih Muslim Hadith No. 4039

Rumaid reported that Anas b. Malik (Allah be pleased with him) has asked about the earnings of a cupper. Then (the above-mentioned hadith was reported but with this addition) that he said: The best treatment which you get is cupping. or aloeswood and do not torture your children by pressing their uvula.

Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 5696

Narrated Anas: that he was asked about the wages of the one who cups others. He said, 'Allah's Apostle was cupped by `Abd Taiba, to whom he gave two Sa of food and interceded for him with his masters who consequently reduced what they used to charge him daily. Then the Prophet s said, The best medicines you may treat yourselves with are cupping and sea incense.' He added, You should not torture your children by treating tonsillitis by pressing the tonsils or the palate with the finger, but use incense.

Jami at Tirmidhi Hadith No. 719

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that: the Messenger of Allah said: Three things do not break the fast of the fasting person: Cupping, vomiting, and the wet dream.
