Narrated Sarra daughter of Nabhan: She was mistress of a temple in pre-Islamic days. She said: The prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم addressed us on the second day of sacrifice (yawm ar-ru'us) and said: Which is this day? We said: Allah and His Messenger are better aware. He said: Is this not the middle of the tashriq days?
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، حَدَّثَتْنِي جَدَّتِي سَرَّاءُ بِنْتُ نَبْهَانَ وَكَانَتْ رَبَّةُ بَيْتٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، قَالَتْ: خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الرُّءُوسِ، فَقَالَ: أَيُّ يَوْمٍ هَذَا ؟ قُلْنَا: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: أَلَيْسَ أَوْسَطَ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ ؟ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: وَكَذَلِكَ قَالَ عَمُّ أَبِي حُرَّةَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ: إِنَّهُ خَطَبَ أَوْسَطَ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ .
ربیعہ بن عبدالرحمٰن بن حصین کہتے ہیں مجھ سے میری دادی سراء بنت نبہان رضی اللہ عنہا نے بیان کیا اور وہ جاہلیت میں گھر کی مالکہ تھیں ( جس میں اصنام ہوتے تھے ) ، وہ کہتی ہیں: ہمیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یوم الروس ۱؎ ( ایام تشریق کے دوسرے دن بارہویں ذی الحجہ ) کو خطاب کیا اور پوچھا: یہ کون سا دن ہے؟ ، ہم نے عرض کیا: اللہ اور اس کے رسول زیادہ جانتے ہیں، آپ نے فرمایا: کیا یہ ایام تشریق کا بیچ والا دن نہیں ہے ۔ امام ابوداؤد رحمہ اللہ کہتے ہیں: ابوحرہ رقاشی کے چچا سے بھی اسی طرح روایت ہے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایام تشریق کے بیچ والے دن خطبہ دیا۔

This is the address of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم which he gave at Mina.

Abdur Rahman ibn Muadh said that he heard a man from the Companions of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم say: The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم addressed the people at Mina and he made them stay in their dwellings. He then said: The Muhajirun (Emigrants) should stay here, and he made a sign to the right side of the qiblah, and the Ansar (the Helpers) here, and he made a sign to the left side of the qiblah; the people should stay around them.
