It was narrated from Abu Musa that the Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever has a slave woman and teaches her good manners and educates her, then sets her free and marries her, will have two rewards. Any man from among the People of the Book who believed in his Prophet and believed in Muhammad will have two rewards. Any slave who does his duty towards Allah and towards his masters will have two rewards.” (Sahih)(one of the narrators) Salih said: “Sha'bi said: 'I have given this (Hadith) to you for little effort on your part. A rider would travel to Al-Madinah for less than this.' ”

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ صَالِحِ بْنِ حَيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ جَارِيَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَدَّبَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَحْسَنَ أَدَبَهَا وَعَلَّمَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَحْسَنَ تَعْلِيمَهَا ثُمَّ أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ وَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ آمَنَ بِنَبِيِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَآمَنَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ مَمْلُوكٍ أَدَّى حَقَّ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَحَقَّ مَوَالِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ صَالِحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ أَعْطَيْتُكَهَا بِغَيْرِ شَيْءٍ إِنْ كَانَ الرَّاكِبُ لَيَرْكَبُ فِيمَا دُونَهَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ.

ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس کے پاس لونڈی ہو وہ اس کو اچھی طرح ادب سکھائے، اور اچھی طرح تعلیم دے، پھر اسے آزاد کر کے اس سے شادی کر لے، تو اس کے لیے دوہرا اجر ہے، اور اہل کتاب میں سے جو شخص اپنے نبی پر ایمان لایا، پھر محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر ایمان لایا، تو اسے دوہرا اجر ملے گا، اور جو غلام اللہ کا حق ادا کرے، اور اپنے مالک کا حق بھی ادا کرے، تو اس کو دوہرا اجر ہے ۱؎۔ شعبی نے صالح سے کہا: ہم نے یہ حدیث تم کو مفت سنا دی، اس سے معمولی حدیث کے لیے آدمی مدینہ تک سوار ہو کر جایا کرتا تھا ۲؎۔

Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 2547

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari: The Prophet said, He who has a slave-girl and teaches her good manners and improves her education and then manumits and marries her, will get a double reward; and any slave who observes Allah's right and his master's right will get a double reward.

Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 3011

Narrated Abu Burda's father: The Prophet said, Three persons will get their reward twice. (One is) a person who has a slave girl and he educates her properly and teaches her good manners properly (without violence) and then manumits and marries her. Such a person will get a double reward. (Another is) a believer from the people of the scriptures who has been a true believer and then he believes in the Prophet (Muhammad). Such a person will get a double reward. (The third is) a slave who observes Allah's Rights and Obligations and is sincere to his master.

Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 5083

Narrated Abu Burda's father: Allah's Apostle said, any man who has a slave girl whom he educates properly, teaches good manners, manumits and marries her, will get a double reward And if any man of the people of the Scriptures believes in his own prophet and then believes in me too, he will (also) get a double reward And any slave who fulfills his duty to his master and to his Lord, will (also) get a double reward.

Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 97

Narrated Abu Burda's father: Allah's Apostle said Three persons will have a double reward: 1. A Person from the people of the scriptures who believed in his prophet (Jesus or Moses) and then believed in the Prophet Muhammad (i .e. has embraced Islam). 2. A slave who discharges his duties to Allah and his master. 3. A master of a woman-slave who teaches her good manners and educates her in the best possible way (the religion) and manumits her and then marries her.

Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 3446

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari: Allah's Apostle said, If a person teaches his slave girl good manners properly, educates her properly, and then manumits and marries her, he will get a double reward. And if a man believes in Jesus and then believes in me, he will get a double reward. And if a slave fears his Lord (i.e. Allah) and obeys his masters, he too will get a double reward.

Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 2544

Narrated Abu Musa: Allah's Apostle said, He who has a slave-girl and educates and treats her nicely and then manumits and marries her, will get a double reward.
