Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, Dec 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Dec, 2016 ) : Two ships Northern Jamborne and Imari carrying containers and project cargo were berthed at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
Meanwhile four more ships Maipo, Ginga Panther, Chemroad Haya and SC Bei Hai with containers, palm oil and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at 53% on Wednesday where a total of eight ships namely North Jamborne, MSC Albany, Imari Chintana Naree, Maritime Dinar, Eco Glaxy Rise Fortune and Black Pearl are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, project cargo, slag, chemicals, furnace oil and lpg respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 127,809 tonnes, comprising 81,962 tonnes import cargo and 45,847 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,204 containers TEUs) 1,791 imports TEUs & 2,413 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.
Three ships, MSC Albany, Eco Glaxy and Chintana Naree sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships Black Pearl and Maritime Dinar are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Three ships Maipo, SC Beihai and Genyuine Hercules carrying containers, palm oil and chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT and EVTL respectively on Thursday, while three more ships CMA CGM Tosca, Maersk Innoshima and Serene Susannah are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday and another vessel Safmarine Ngami is due to arrive on Saturday.
