Total Ruku In Quran

There are 558 Rukus as a whole in the Holy Quran. Ruku comes from an Arabic word رُكوع. It is some part or paragraph in the Quran. It is also to classify the verses of the Quran. During the revelation of the Holy Quran, it was not sub-divided by Rukus. Furthermore, Rukuas were not there in the reign of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Sahaaba (R.A).
These subdivisions were created during the reign of Hajaaj bin Yusuf. Accordingly, you will see these marks and symbols in the scripts of that era (Scripts published in Asia).
Before moving forward, we want to clear some uncertainties between the terms 'Roku’ and ‘Ruku.’ Let’s begin!
Roku vs. Ruku
Don’t be confused with Roku and Ruku. The action of bow-down in Prayer (Salah), where your backbone is straight horizontally (in rest position) before standing for Qiyam, is identified as “Roku”. In contrast, the paragraph, stanza, or passage of the Holy Quran is named “Ruku”.
Identification of Ruku
Ruku signs are noticed only in those Quranic texts printed in Asia (usually Indo-Pak).
(جاری ہے)
They are identified by an Arabic alphabet or symbol (ع). For your assistance, it is depicted in the following image.
Quran vs. Ruku
The persons who highlighted the Rukus in Quran had an aspiration to mark the sectional shift by placing the symbol ع. All the 30 Paras of the Holy Quran have been divided on a quantitative basis solely. It sometimes creates misunderstanding. Various discernments have gone wrong. Let’s take the example of Surah Al-Qamar (Surah # 54). This Surah is divided into 3 Rukus irrespective of the quantity.
