Ramadan Dua

Ramadan Dua

Ramadan is the best month to make Dua from Allah Almighty. This month is a gift from Allah Almighty that is full of blessings. In this month, we all have a chance to accept our supplications from Allah.

When someone does a good deed in Ramadan, Allah rewards him 70 times more than when he does a good deed on normal days.

Importance of dua

It is said by Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) that in Ramadan, there is a time in the night or every day when the Dua is certainly accepted. In Islam, Dua has much importance because “Dua is the heart of deeds”.

Many people make Dua in prostration because prostration is the best place to make Dua.

Dua for Ramadan

Allah Almighty has filled the Ramadan month with blessings, rewards, and mercy. Our beloved Prophet said their ummah to make more and more supplications in the month of Ramadan. The complete month of Ramadan is a blessing for all Muslims.

It is also narrated that when the month of Ramadan arrives, the doors of Jannah are opened, and the doors of hell are closed. Moreover, it is also narrated that the shaitans have also locked up in this blessed month.

Our Prophet Muhammad(P.B.U.H) taught us to make dua as much as we can in Ramadan. Some of the Ramadan Duas are as follows:

Dua for fasting

For fasting, it is not necessary to make Dua. But, your intention is very important for fasting. The Dua for fasting is:

وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

I intended to make fast tomorrow in the month of Ramadan.

Dua for iftar

Oh Allah, I fasted for You, and I believe in You, and I break my fast with Your sustenance.

Dua for avoiding your temper/anger in Ramadan

The Dua for avoiding your anger is as follows:

إِنِّي صَائِمٌ ، إِنِّي صَائِمٌ

I am fasting, I am fasting.

The person who is fasting, anger is not for him/her. But if he/she became angry again and again, he/she must recite this dua to avoid anger.

Dua for 1st Ashra of Ramadan

The 1st Ashra contains 1st Ramadan to 10th Ramadan. We also call the 1st Ashra the “Ashra of mercy”. In Ramadan, Allah Azzawajal gives a lot of mercy and blessings to Muslims in 1st Ashra. Our Lord, who is ever-living and everlasting, wants its creation to ask me in their dua for their whole life for more mercy and more blessings.

This Ashra starts when the crescent moon is sighted, and it remains for 10 days. Pakistanis also call the 1st Ashra Dua in the Urdu language the “Pehle Ashra ki Dua”.

Dua for Ramadan first 10 days is as follows:

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغيث

Oh, Everliving, The Everlasting, I seek Your help through Your mercy.

Dua for 2nd Ashra of Ramadan

The 2nd Ashra continues from 11th Ramadan to 20th Ramadan. It is also called the “Ashra of forgiveness”. To seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty, Muslims have to make special dua’s on each day in Ramadan. There are also different names of Allah Almighty, such as merciful, forgiver, and many more names.

It does not matter how much sinful we are; we shall try to make more and more dua and seek forgiveness from our creator or our Lord, who is the most beneficial, merciful, and forgiver. Muslims also call the 2nd Ashra Dua in the Urdu language the “Dusre Ashra ki Dua”. The Dua for 2nd Ashra is as follows:

اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ رَبِّی مِنْ کُلِّ زَنْبٍ وَّ اَتُوْبُ اِلَیْہِ

I seek forgiveness from Allah for all my sins I committed and turn to Him.

Muslims seek forgiveness from Allah Almighty through their Ramadan Dua.

Dua for 3rd Ashra of Ramadan

The 3rd Ashra continues from 21st Ramadan to 29th or 30th Ramadan. The last ten days of Ramadan are very important for all Muslims because they will get freedom from hell through their Dua.

It is also said that if Muslims have wasted their previous 20 days of Ramadan and did not make any Dua in 1st or 2nd Ashra, still, they have a chance of forgiveness in the last Ashra. They can set themselves free from the fire of hell by their Dua and ibadah.

The third Ashra Dua is:

اَللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ

O Allah, save me from the fire.

Lilatul Qadr is one of the powerful nights, and it is better than a thousand months. This night is one of the best chances for Muslims to seek forgiveness from Allah Azzawajal. It is the golden time for all Muslims. Hazrat Aisha (R.A.) said that ‘I asked the Messenger of Allah: 'O Messenger of Allah if I know what night is the night of Qadr, what should I say during it?' Prophet (S.A.W.) recited the Dua that is given below:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّكَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, [Generous,] You love to pardon, so pardon me.

All Muslims should recite this Dua regularly. You can recite this Dua in the 3rd Ashra of Ramadan as well as the whole year to seek mercy from Allah Almighty.

Importance of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Ashra Dua’s in Ramadan

The Holy month of Muslims is Ramadan, and it is declared by the last Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). In the 1st Ashra, Muslims ask for mercy from Allah; in the 2nd Ashra, Muslims ask for forgiveness, and in the 3rd Ashra, Muslims ask for freedom from hell.

All these Ashra Dua’s are just like a gift from our lord because it consists of the highest rewards. Through these Ramadan Dua’s, we all have a chance to get or to seek mercy, blessings, forgiveness, and Nijat from the fire of hell. Our Holy Prophet has described in detail the significance of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Ashra’s.

Conclusion

These are Ramadan supplications that we all need to recite daily because Ramadan is a month full of blessings that come once a year. So, we all need to recite the Ramadan supplications at any time to seek forgiveness and mercy from Allah Almighty. These Dua’s are for our safety and protection from hell or to get Nijat from the fire of hell.
