Rabi Al-Akhar Calendar

Rabi Al-Akhar is the fourth month of the Islamic calendar. There is no specific practice of this month that is present in the Quran and Haddis. 

The month is important for the Sunni Muslims as there is the death anniversary of the Muslim Sufi Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadar Jilani (RA) on the 11th of the Rabi Al-Akhar. Muslims pay honor and tribute to the Muslim Sufi in different ways. Few Muslims fast on the day, and others arrange Niyaz. Niyyaz is the special meal prepared on the 11th of Rabi Al-Akhar and distributed to the friends, family, neighbors, and relatives after the Mehfil-e-Drood. 

Islamic events of Rabi Al-Akhar

The major Islamic events of Rabi Al-Akhar are as follows.

• The 11th Imam of Shia Muslims, Imam Hassan Al-Askari, was born on the 10th of the Rabi Al-Akhar.
• Fatima binte Musa died on the 12th of Rabi Al-Akhar. She was the daughter of the seventh Shia Imam Musa Al-Khadim and sister of the 8th Shia Imam. 
• Habib Abu Bakar Al Hadeed died on the 15th of this month.
• Ahmed Sirhandi died on the 27th of Rabi Al-Akhar. He was a Muslim Scholar who belongs to India and was one of the Naqshbandi family members. He introduced a Muslim order Mujadad. 

Special Acts of the Rabi Al-Akhar

The following acts should be performed in the month of Rabi Al-Akhar.

• Recite the Holy Quran as much as you can.
• Recite the Astagfar regularly throughout the month.
• Offer special prayers to get the blessings of Allah Almighty. Special Nawafal should be offered in different prayer timings. 
• Recite the Surah Mariam, Surah Fatiha, Surah Muzamil, and Ayat ul Kursi in a specific number daily. 
• Sadqa is the best thing to get the shower of blessings. The Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) also focused on the Sadqa in this month.
