In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

وَالسَّمَآءِ وَالطَّارِقِۙ‏ ﴿۱﴾

By the heaven and the Morning Star ﴾1﴿

وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا الطَّارِقُۙ‏ ﴿۲﴾

- Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! ﴾2﴿

النَّجۡمُ الثَّاقِبُۙ‏ ﴿۳﴾

- The piercing Star! ﴾3﴿

اِنۡ كُلُّ نَفۡسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيۡهَا حَافِظٌؕ‏ ﴿۴﴾

No human soul but hath a guardian over it. ﴾4﴿

فَلۡيَنۡظُرِ الۡاِنۡسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَؕ‏ ﴿۵﴾

So let man consider from what he is created. ﴾5﴿

خُلِقَ مِنۡ مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍۙ‏ ﴿۶﴾

He is created from a gushing fluid ﴾6﴿

يَّخۡرُجُ مِنۡۢ بَيۡنِ الصُّلۡبِ وَالتَّرَآٮِٕبِؕ‏ ﴿۷﴾

That issued from between the loins and ribs. ﴾7﴿

اِنَّهٗ عَلٰى رَجۡعِهٖ لَقَادِرٌؕ‏ ﴿۸﴾

Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) ﴾8﴿

يَوۡمَ تُبۡلَى السَّرَآٮِٕرُۙ‏ ﴿۹﴾

On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. ﴾9﴿

فَمَا لَهٗ مِنۡ قُوَّةٍ وَّلَا نَاصِرٍؕ‏ ﴿۱۰﴾

Then will he have no might nor any helper. ﴾10﴿

وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجۡعِۙ‏ ﴿۱۱﴾

By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, ﴾11﴿

وَالۡاَرۡضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدۡعِۙ‏ ﴿۱۲﴾

And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) ﴾12﴿

اِنَّهٗ لَقَوۡلٌ فَصۡلٌۙ‏ ﴿۱۳﴾

Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, ﴾13﴿

وَّمَا هُوَ بِالۡهَزۡلِؕ‏ ﴿۱۴﴾

It is no pleasantry. ﴾14﴿

اِنَّهُمۡ يَكِيۡدُوۡنَ كَيۡدًاۙ‏ ﴿۱۵﴾

Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) ﴾15﴿

وَّاَكِيۡدُ كَيۡدًاۚ ۖ‏ ﴿۱۶﴾

And I plot a plot (against them). ﴾16﴿

فَمَهِّلِ الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ اَمۡهِلۡهُمۡ رُوَيۡدًا‏ ﴿۱۷﴾

So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. ﴾17﴿
