Widespread Rain Likely In Upper, Northern Parts Of Country

Widespread rain-thunderstorm is expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jan, 2019 ) :Widespread rain-thunderstorm is expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), widespread rain-thunderstorm is expected at Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions in Khyber Pakhtunkha and Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions in upper Punjab.Widespread rain-thunderstorm is likely at scattered places in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan and at isolated places in Mirpurkhas division.

Moderate to heavy falls are also expected at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Snowfall over the hills is also expected in Malakand division (Swat, Chitral, Kalam, Malamjabba and upper Dir), Hazara division, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

A westerly wave is present over the country and likely to grip most parts of the country and may persist in upper/central parts till Thursday (night).

The rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Parachinar 08, Peshawar Trace, Balochistan: Barkhan 01, Quetta, Gawadar Trace, Punjab: Layyah, Kot addu, Bhakkar Trace and Gilgit Baltistan: Hunza, Bagrote Trace.

The lowest minimum temperaturs recorded during the last 24 hours were Skardu -19 C, Bagrote, Kalam, Gupis -12 C, Hunza -06 C, Parachinar -05 C, Dir, Malamjabba -04 C, Drosh, Rawalakot -03 C, Mirkhani, Kakul -02 C, Gilgit, Kamra, Chitral, Bunji -01 C.
