غلام نبی حکیم
زندگی عشق و محبت سے جواں ہوتی ہے
ورنہ بے کیف سی بے تاب و تواں ہوتی ہے
عشق کی لو سے جو روشن رگ جاں ہوتی ہے
شمع بن جاتی ہے بے عشق دھواں ہوتی ہے
کون ہم جیسوں کو اس مے کا پتہ دیتا ہے
پہلے کچھ لوگ بتاتے تھے کہ ہاں ہوتی ہے
ہاؤ ہو شور جو ہم سنتے ہیں مے خانے میں
مے گساروں کے لئے بانگ اذاں ہوتی ہے
اک نہ اک ناصح مشفق بھی ٹپک پڑتا ہے
مے گساری کی کوئی بات جہاں ہوتی ہے
اے حکیمؔ آؤ وہ مے خانہ کھلا رہتا ہے
اصل مے ساقیٔ کوثر کے وہاں ہوتی ہے

warna be-kaif si be-tab-o-tawan hoti hai
ishq ki lau se jo raushan rag-e-jaan hoti hai
shama ban jati hai be-ishq dhuan hoti hai
kaun hum jaison ko is mai ka pata deta hai
pahle kuchh log batate the ki han hoti hai
haw-hu shor jo hum sunte hain mai-KHane mein
mai-gusaron ke liye bang-e-azan hoti hai
ek na ek naseh-e-mushfiq bhi Tapak paDta hai
mai-gusari ki koi baat jahan hoti hai
ai 'hakim' aao wo mai-KHana khula rahta hai
asl mai saqi-e-kausar ke wahan hoti hai
