یاں کے ہونے کو مثالوں کی زمیں چاہیے ہے

اس کی ہستی کو یہ تمثیل نہیں چاہیے ہے

ہر نشاں اس کا ہے دل میں بھی ہے جلوہ اس کا

ظاہر دیدہ کی تسکیں بھی کہیں چاہیے ہے

جو یہاں بھی ہے وہاں بھی ہے وہی ہے اچھا

کیوں کہیں اس کو بھی اچھا جو یہیں چاہے ہے

یادیں آباد زمانوں کی ہیں آباد اس میں

ہے خرابہ پہ اسے مجھ سا مکیں چاہیے ہے

کب سمندر نے بجھائی ہے کوئی پیاس یہاں

شور ہے شاہؔ یہ پیالہ ہی نہیں چاہیے ہے

yan ke hone ko misalon ki zamin chahiye hai
us ki hasti ko ye tamsil nahin chahiye hai

har nishan us ka hai dil mein bhi hai jalwa us ka
zahir-e-dida ki taskin bhi kahin chahiye hai

jo yahan bhi hai wahan bhi hai wahi hai achchha
kyun kahen us ko bhi achchha jo yahin chahe hai
