غم کو ثبات ہے نہ خوشی کو قرار ہے

جو کل تھا خندہ ریز وہ آج اشک بار ہے

کہتی ہے اوس پھول سے او بے خود نشاط

روئے خزاں بھی زیر حجاب بہار ہے

جب تک جلی جلا کی ہوا آئی بجھ گئی

یہ زندگی بھی شمع سر رہ گزار ہے

جس کا نفس کی آمد و شد پر مدار ہو

ایسی حیات کا بھی کوئی اعتبار ہے

اک میں ہی بد نصیب ہوں محروم‌ انبساط

دنیا کے لب پہ ذکر بہاروں کا رہے

اپنی بہار وقف خزاں ہو چکی تو ہو

ہر سو جو شور آمد فصل بہار ہے

آسیؔ طرب کدہ تھا کبھی یہ دل حزیں

اے وائے آج حسرت و غم کا مزار ہے
