نہ کوئی دن نہ کوئی رات انتظار کی ہے

کہ یہ جدائی بھروسے کی اعتبار کی ہے

جو خاک اڑی ہے مرے دکھ سمیٹ لیں گے اسے

جو بچھ گئی سر منظر وہ رہ گزار کی ہے

وہ وصل ہو کہ کھلے آئنے پہ عکس جمال

یہ آرزو ہے مگر بات اختیار کی ہے

اسی کا نام ہے وحشت سرائے جاں میں چراغ

اسی کے لمس میں دھڑکن دل فگار کی ہے

یہ کون تھا جو سر بام خود کو بھول گیا

یہ کس کا رقص تھا، گردش یہ کس غبار کی ہے

یہ کون مجھ میں ہرے موسموں اترتا ہے

یہ کیسے رنگ ہیں خوشبو یہ کس دیار کی ہے

بجھانے والے نے خاورؔ بجھا دیا ہے چراغ

یہی ٹھہرنے کی ساعت یہی مزار کی ہے
