صاف ظاہر ہے میری رنگت سے
خود ہمارا ہی معتقد نکا
ہم نے دیکھا تھا جسے عقیدت سے
جسکو دیکھے بنا قرار نہیں
اُسکو دیکھا نہیں ہے مدت سے
گرچہ خلعت ہے اپنی بوسیدہ
اوڑھ رکھی ہے پھر بھی جِدّت سے
پھاڑ ڈالے گا اس کی نفرت کو
خط جو لکھا گیا ہے الفت سے
آب پیتا ہوں جسقدر حماد
پیس لگتی ہے اور شِدّت سے
