چپ ہے آغاز میں، پھر شور اجل پڑتا ہے

اور کہیں بیچ میں امکان کا پل پڑتا ہے

ایک وحشت ہے کہ ہوتی ہے اچانک طاری

ایک غم ہے کہ یکایک ہی ابل پڑتا ہے

یاد کا پھول مہکتے ہی نواح شب میں

کوئی خوشبو سے ملاقات کو چل پڑتا ہے

حجرۂ ذات میں سناٹا ہی ایسا ہے کہ دل

دھیان میں گونجتی آہٹ پہ اچھل پڑتا ہے

روک لیتا ہے ابد وقت کے اس پار کی راہ

دوسری سمت سے جاؤں تو ازل پڑتا ہے

ساعتوں کی یہی تکرار ہے جاری ہر دم

میری دنیا میں کوئی آج، نہ کل پڑتا ہے

تاب یک لحظہ کہاں حسن جنوں خیز کے پیش

سانس لینے سے توجہ میں خلل پڑتا ہے

مجھ میں پھیلی ہوئی تاریکی سے گھبرا کے کوئی

روشنی دیکھ کے مجھ میں سے نکل پڑتا ہے

جب بھی لگتا ہے سخن کی نہ کوئی لو ہے نہ رو

دفعتاً حرف کوئی خوں میں مچل پڑتا ہے

غم چھپائے نہیں چھپتا ہے کروں کیا عرفانؔ

نام لوں اس کا تو آواز میں بل پڑتا ہے
