وقت پر عشق زلیخا کا اثر لگتا ہے

آخر عمر بھی آغاز سفر لگتا ہے

یہ سمندر ہے مگر سوختہ جاں شاعر کو

کسی مجبور کا اک دیدۂ تر لگتا ہے

صبح تازہ ہے مقدر دل مایوس ٹھہر

شجر امید پہ انعام ثمر لگتا ہے

میں زباں بندی کا یہ عہد نہیں توڑوں گا

ہاں مگر اس دل گستاخ سے ڈر لگتا ہے

ہمیں ادراک محبت تو نہیں ہے لیکن

اتنا معلوم ہے اس کھیل میں سر لگتا ہے
