ہے کہے دیتے ہیں زحمت خوردہ ہے

دل تو حاضر ہے مگر پژمردہ ہے

تو ہی آتا ہے نہ آتی ہے قضا

دیکھتے ہیں جس کو وہ آزردہ ہے

جس طرح جی چاہے رکھیں میرا دل

جانتے ہیں وہ کہ مال مردہ ہے

منزل الفت میں رکھیں تو قدم

رستم و سہراب کا کیا گردہ ہے

کون سنتا ہے تمہاری اے نسیمؔ

کس کو پاس خاطر افسردہ ہے

dil to hazir hai magar pazhmurda hai

tu hi aata hai na aati hai qaza
dekhte hain jis ko wo aazurda hai

jis tarah ji chahe rakhen mera dil
jaante hain wo ki mal murda hai

manzil-e-ulfat mein rakkhen to qadam
rustam-o-suhrab ka kya gurda hai

kaun sunta hai tumhaari ai 'nasim'
