پروفیسر رشید حسرت
لگی ہے دِل کو وِیرانی، دسمبر کے مہِینے میں
نہ تھی ایسی پشیمانی، دسمبر کے مہِینےمیں
نہ توڑو گے نومبر میں، کیا تھا جُون میں وعدہ
کریں گے ہم نگہبانی، دسمبر کے مہِینے میں
نجانے کِتنی صدیوں سے تُمہارا ہِجر اوڑھے ہیں
اگر کر دو مہربانی دسمبر کے مہِینے میں
اگرچہ چین پہلے بھی مُیسّر تو نہ تھا ہم کو
اِدھر غم میں فراوانی، دسمبر کے مہِینے میں
کِیا رُسوا زمانے میں، ہمیں دِل کی تمنّا نے
کرے ہے راج حیرانی دسمبر کے مہِینے میں
بڑے ہی شوق سے گرمی میں یہ ٹھہریں خُراسانی
ولے لوٹیں گے بولانی، دسمبر کے مہِینے میں
رشِیدؔ ہنسنے ہنسانے میں، بھلے دن کاٹ لو گے تم
مگر راتیں ہیں طُولانی، دسمبر کے مہِینے میں
