یہ بے نوائی ہماری سودائے سر ہے گھر میں بسا دیا ہے

مکان خالی ہے لیکن اس کو نگار خانہ بنا دیا ہے

تمام عمر عزیز اپنی اسی طرح سے گنوائی ہم نے

کبھی جو سوئے تو خواب دیکھا کسی نے ہم کو جگا دیا ہے

نہ کچھ رہا ہے کہ ہم ہی رکھتے نہ کچھ بچا ہے کہ تم کو دیتے

متاع دل تھی لٹا کے آئے جو قرض جاں تھا چکا دیا ہے

یہ شان دیکھو قلندروں کی ہے جس پہ دار و مدار ہستی

وہ آشیاں پھونک کر ہر اک شاخ پر نشیمن بنا دیا ہے

یہ زندگی کی ستم ظریفی نہیں تو پھر اور کیا ہے آزرؔ

وہ جن کی خاطر بھٹک رہے ہیں انہی نے ہم کو بھلا دیا ہے
