خیال کی طرح چپ ہو صدا ہوئے ہوتے

خیال کی طرح چپ ہو صدا ہوئے ہوتے

کم از کم اپنی ہی آواز پا ہوئے ہوتے

ترس رہا ہوں تمہاری زباں سے سننے کو

کہ تم کبھی مرا حرف وفا ہوئے ہوتے

عجیب کیفیت‌ بے دلی ہے دونوں طرف

کہ مل کے سوچ رہے ہیں جدا ہوئے ہوتے

بہت عزیز سہی ہم کو اپنی خود داری

مزہ تو جب تھا کہ تیری انا ہوئے ہوتے

یہ آرزو رہی اپنی جو عمر بھر کے لیے

تری زباں پہ رہے وہ مزہ ہوئے ہوتے

سموم کی طرح جینے سے فائدہ کیا ہے

کسی کے واسطے باد صبا ہوئے ہوتے

ہمیشہ مائل حسن بتاں رہے آذرؔ

کبھی تو قائل‌ حسن خدا ہوئے ہوتے
