اس چاند کو تم دل میں چھپا کیوں نہیں لیتے
اس پیاس کی شدت کو بجھا کیوں نہیں لیتے
گر پیار کی آتش میں سلگنے میں مزا ہے
پھر عشق میں تم خود کو جلا کیوں نہیں لیتے
یہ لاشۂ جاں آئے گا اب کون اٹھانے
اس بوجھ کو کاندھوں پہ اٹھا کیوں نہیں لیتے
اس شہر میں ہیں لاکھ طبیبوں کی دوکانیں
بیمار ہے گر دل تو دوا کیوں نہیں لیتے
ہے دل میں ریاضؔ اپنے چھپی درد کہانی
رو دھو کے زمانے کو سنا کیوں نہیں لیتے

is shahr mein hain lakh tabibon ki dokanen
bimar hai gar dil to dawa kyun nahin lete
hai dil mein 'riyaz' apne chhupi dard-kahani
ro-dho ke zamane ko suna kyun nahin lete
