ہے ازل سے جس کا دشمن یہ زمانہ عشق ہے

ہے ازل سے جس کا دشمن یہ زمانہ عشق ہے
ہر طرف قاتل نگاہیں اور نشانہ عشق ہے
دیکھ کر مجھ کو تمہارا مسکرانا عشق ہے
اور ذرا سی بات پر پھر روٹھ جانا عشق ہے
پہلے کھو دینا اسے اپنی انا کے واسطے
پھر اسی کی یاد میں دل کو جلانا عشق ہے
دو ملاقاتیں ہوئیں ہیں اور وہ بھی مختصر
لگ رہا ہے مجھ کو یوں صدیوں پرانا عشق ہے
جب بھی ملتے ہیں تو کرتے ہیں غزل پر گفتگو
اس کے میرے درمیاں اک شاعرانہ عشق ہے
جب مدد ساحل پہ ہو بس اس صدا کی منتظر
ایسے میں خاموش رہ کر ڈوب جانا عشق ہے
چین دن کا نیند راتوں کی اور اس دل کا سکوں
سب گنوا کر جو ملا ہم کو خزانہ عشق ہے
مدتوں کے بعد وہ ہم سے ملا اور یوں ملا
کہہ اٹھے سب دیکھنے والے پرانا عشق ہے
