شبھم کشیپ

دلوں پر بار ہوتی جا رہی ہے

زباں تلوار ہوتی جا رہی ہے

ٹھہر جائے نہ نبض دل مری اب

وفا لاچار ہوتی جا رہی ہے

زمیں کے مسئلوں کا حل تلاشو

زمیں آزار ہوتی جا رہی ہے

جسے دیکھو فریب آرزو ہے

ادا مکار ہوتی جا رہی ہے

ہوئی بدنام کتنی ہے فقیری

یہ کاروبار ہوتی جا رہی ہے

فصاحت نہ بلاغت ہے غزل میں

غزل بیمار ہوتی جا رہی ہے

در مقصود تک جائیں گے کیسے

مسلسل ہار ہوتی جا رہی ہے

ادب ملحوظ رکھنا ہے شبھمؔ جی

قلم میں دھار ہوتی جا رہی ہے

zaban talwar hoti ja rahi hai

Thahar jae na nabz-e-dil meri ab
wafa lachaar hoti ja rahi hai

zamin ke masalon ka hal talasho
zamin aazar hoti ja rahi hai

jise dekho fareb-e-arzu hai
ada makkar hoti ja rahi hai

hui badnam kitni hai faqiri
ye karobar hoti ja rahi hai

fasahat na balaghat hai ghazal mein
ghazal bimar hoti ja rahi hai

dar-e-maqsud tak jaenge kaise
musalsal haar hoti ja rahi hai

adab malhuz rakhna hai 'shubham' ji
qalam mein dhaar hoti ja rahi hai
