دلوں میں پھول کھلتے جا رہے ہیں
مرے قاصد بجا فرما رہے ہیں
ہمیں تو اور بھی غم کھا رہے ہیں
مقابل آپ بھی دھمکا رہے ہیں
اکیلے دور جا کر رو لیے ہم
اکیلے خود کو ہی بہلا رہے ہیں
اب اپنی زندگی سے تنگ آکر
ہم اپنی موت پر اترا رہے ہیں
ہمارا جسم ہے اک قبر جیسا
بہت کچھ جس میں ہم دفنا رہے ہیں
کوئی اپنا نہیں ہے یار سوہلؔ
ہم اپنے آپ سے بتلا رہے ہیں

hamara jism hai ek qabr jaisa
bahut kuchh jis mein hum dafna rahe hain
koi apna nahin hai yar 'sohil'
hum apne aap se batla rahe hain
