وہ جو محفل میں قہقہے لگا رہا ہے

اُس سے پوچھو اے دوست تجھے غم کیا ہے

زمانے سے شکایت نہ تم سے کوئی گلہ ہے

جو کچھ مقدر میں تھا وہ ہمیں ملا ہے

دیوار میں دراڑ سی شیشے میں بال سا

خیر ہو الٰہی زمانہ بہت برا ہے

اِس دورنگی دنیا میں پرکھنا محال ہے

ہے دشمنِ جاں کون کون دلربا ہے

ذرا ضمیر کے آئینے میں دیکھ کر بتاؤ

میرا یہ روپ تمہیں کیسا لگتا ہے

سچے تم بھی ہو جھوٹے ہم بھی نہیں

ہم دونوں کے درمیان کوئی تیسرا ہے

آپ اور میں تو شبلی و منصور تھے

غیروں کی طرح آپ نے بھی پتھر اُٹھا لیا ہے

لوگ کہتے تو کہتے مگر تم نہ کہتے

ماہمٓ تُو غلط، ماہم تُو بے وفا ہے
