وہ چاہتا تو جانے کا فیصلہ بدل بھی سکتا تھا

رُخصت ہوا تو ویراں کر گیا میرے دل کی بستی

وہ چاہتا تو جانے کا فیصلہ بدل بھی سکتا تھا

یہ اُس پہ منحصر تھا گلے لگاتا یا چھوڑ دیتا

آنکھوں میں رکھ لیتا دل میں پناہ بھی سکتا تھا

میری سانسیں اکھڑ رہی ہیں اُس کی جدائی میں

میری زندگی کی کچھ شامیں بڑھا بھی سکتا تھا

اُسے معلوم بھی تھی میری حالت وہ چاہتا تو

میرے دن بدل دیتا میری زندگی سنوار بھی سکتا تھا

میں اُس کی گلی میں ٹھہرا رہا اور دیں آوازیں اُسے

وہ میری بات سن لیتا یا ہاتھ ہلا بھی سکتا تھا

مجھے اُس سے محبت ہے کس قدر اگر وہ جان جاتا

میری راہوں میں پلکیں رکھ دیتا مجھے اپناء بھی سکتا تھا
