سفید پوش درندوں نے گل کھلائے تھے
زمین سرخ ہوئی سبز کرنے آئے تھے
سمجھ لیا تھا جنہیں میں نے روشنی کا سفیر
وہ آستین میں خنجر چھپا کے لائے تھے
مسافروں کو گھنی چھاؤں لے کے بیٹھ گئی
درخت راہ کے دونوں طرف لگائے تھے
مجھے بھی چاروں طرف تشنگی نے دوڑایا
مری نگاہ پہ آب رواں کے سائے تھے
مجھے غرور ہے میں دوستوں کی نیکی ہوں
انہیں خوشی ہے کہ دریا میں ڈال آئے تھے
مرے عزیز تھے وہ قبر کھود کے رکھ دی
مجھے جو دے گئے مٹی وہ سب پرائے تھے
ہوا تو اپنا قرینہ بدل نہیں سکتی
چراغ آپ نے کس زعم میں جلائے تھے
