زر کی طاقت سے کیا نہیں ہوتا

صرف بندہ خدا نہیں ہوتا

لاکھ دیواریں آپ اٹھا دیجے

خون خوں سے جدا نہیں ہوتا

سر بہ سجدہ قدم قدم لیکن

حق یہ ہے حق ادا نہیں ہوتا

گمرہی میں بھٹکتی رہتی جبیں

گر ترا نقش پا نہیں ہوتا

جنبش لب سے کچھ نہیں حاصل

جنبش پا سے کیا نہیں ہوتا

ساز دل چور چور ہو کر بھی

ہے صفت بے صدا نہیں ہوتا

واقف رمز بندگی نغمیؔ

زاہد پارسا نہیں ہوتا

zar ki taqat se kya nahin hota
sirf banda KHuda nahin hota

lakh diwaren aap uTha dije
KHun KHun se juda nahin hota

sar-ba-sajda qadam qadam lekin
haq ye hai haq ada nahin hota

gumrahi mein bhaTakti rahti jabin
gar tera naqsh-e-pa nahin hota

jumbish-e-lab se kuchh nahin hasil
jumbish-e-pa se kya nahin hota

saz-e-dil chur chur ho kar bhi
hai sifat be-sada nahin hota

waqif-e-ramz-e-bandagi 'naghmi'
zahid-e-parsa nahin hota
