اپنے ماضی کے گھنے جنگل سے

کون نکلے گا! کہاں نکلے گا

بے کراں رات ستارے نابود

چاند ابھرا ہے؟ کہاں ابھرا ہے؟

اک فسانہ ہے تجلی کی نمود

کتنے گنجان ہیں اشجار بلند

کتنا موہوم ہے آدم کا وجود

مضمحل چال قدم بوجھل سے

اپنے ماضی کے گھنے جنگل سے

مجھ کو سوجھی ہے نئی راہ فرار

آہن و سنگ و شرر برسائیں

آؤ اشجار کی بنیادوں پر

تیشہ و تیغ و تبر برسائیں

اک تسلسل سے ہم اپنی چوٹیں

بے خطر بار دگر برسائیں

ذہن پر چھائے ہیں کیوں بادل سے

اپنے ماضی کے گھنے جنگل سے

نوع انساں کو نکلنا ہوگا

ان اندھیروں کو نگلنا ہوگا
