غم الفت میں ڈوبے تھے ابھرنا بھی ضروری تھا
ہمیں راہ محبت سے گزرنا بھی ضروری تھا
حقیقت سامنے آئی بہت حیرت ہوئی مجھ کو
ترے چہرے سے پردے کا اترنا بھی ضروری تھا
ہمیں منزل کو پانا تھا تبھی تو راہ ہستی میں
ہمیں پتھریلے رستوں سے گزرنا بھی ضروری تھا
لٹاتے ہی رہے جو کچھ بھی اپنے پاس تھا یارو
کہ خوشبو کی طرح اپنا بکھرنا بھی ضروری تھا
ہمیں وہ بھول بیٹھے ہیں انہیں پھر یاد کیا کرنا
انہیں راہ محبت میں بسرنا بھی ضروری تھا
ہماری زندگی میں حادثے ہوتے رہے امبرؔ
انہیں سہتے ہوئے اپنا نکھرنا بھی ضروری تھا

haqiqat samne aai bahut hairat hui mujh ko
tere chehre se parde ka utarna bhi zaruri tha
hamein manzil ko pana tha tabhi to rah-e-hasti mein
hamein pathrile raston se guzarna bhi zaruri tha
luTate hi rahe jo kuchh bhi apne pas tha yaro
ki KHushbu ki tarah apna bikharna bhi zaruri tha
hamein wo bhul baiThe hain unhen phir yaad kya karna
unhen rah-e-mohabbat mein bisarna bhi zaruri tha
hamari zindagi mein hadse hote rahe 'ambar'
unhen sahte hue apna nikharna bhi zaruri tha
