شیشہ ہی چاہئے نہ مے ارغواں مجھے

بے مانگے جو ملے وہی کافی ہے ہاں مجھے

اے شوخئ نگاہ ذرا احتیاط رکھ

اس بزم میں ہے پاس حدیث بتاں مجھے

یا رب مرے گناہ کیا اور احتساب کیا

کچھ دی نہیں ہے خضر سی عمر رواں مجھے

چنتا تھا راہ زیست کے خاروں کو میں ہنوز

ہے سب عبث اجل نے کہا ناگہاں مجھے

لگتا ہے اک ہجوم میں گم ہے مرا وجود

ڈستی ہیں پھر بھی کس لئے تنہائیاں مجھے

ان کے لئے ہیں اطلس و کمخواب کے سریر

تن ڈھانکنے کو کافی ہیں کچھ دھجیاں مجھے

کیا کیا ستم زمانے کے میں سہہ گیا انیسؔ

مرنے کے بعد یاد کرو گے میاں مجھے

be-mange jo mile wahi kafi hai han mujhe

ai shoKHi-e-nigah zara ehtiyat rakh
is bazm mein hai pas-e-hadis-e-butan mujhe

yarab mere gunah kya aur ehtisab kya
kuchh di nahin hai KHizr si umr-e-rawan mujhe

chunta tha rah-e-zist ke KHaron ko main hanuz
hai sab abas ajal ne kaha na-gahan mujhe

lagta hai ek hujum mein gum hai mera wajud
Dasti hain phir bhi kis liye tanhaiyan mujhe

un ke liye hain atlas-o-kamKHwab ke sarir
tan Dhankne ko kafi hain kuchh dhajjiyan mujhe

kya kya sitam zamane ke main sah gaya 'anis'
marne ke baad yaad karoge miyan mujhe
