ہم نے بوڑھوں سے یہ سنی ہے میاں

بات وہ ہے جو ان کہی ہے میاں

اپنی سانسیں بھی اپنے بس میں نہیں

زندگی خاک زندگی ہے میاں

جس کے تن پر لباس تک بھی نہیں

وہ بھی کیا کوئی آدمی ہے میاں

میرے الفاظ لکھ کے تم رکھ لو

ابھی آواز دب رہی ہے میاں

تم نہیں بولتے تو یوں ہی سہی

ہم نے بھی چپ کی سادھ لی ہے میاں

baat wo hai jo an-kahi hai miyan

apni sansen bhi apne bas mein nahin
zindagi KHak zindagi hai miyan

jis ke tan par libas tak bhi nahin
wo bhi kya koi aadmi hai miyan

mere alfaz likh ke tum rakh lo
abhi aawaz dab rahi hai miyan

tum nahin bolte to yunhi sahi
hum ne bhi chup ki sadh li hai miyan
