یہ دل ہے تو آفت میں پڑتے رہیں گے

یوں ہی ایڑیاں ہم رگڑتے رہیں گے

محبت ہے بد نام کیوں کر بنے گی

وہ ہم سے ہمیشہ بگڑتے رہیں گے

اگر عشق رکھتا ہے تو عقل کھو دے

یہ دونوں رہیں گے تو لڑتے رہیں گے

برے دن بری ساعتیں عشق میں ہیں

سب احباب ہم سے بچھڑتے رہیں گے

وہ سر کاٹ ڈالیں ہمارا تو کیا غم

غرض ایسے ہی پاؤں پڑتے رہیں گے

کہیں عاشقوں کا ٹھکانا نہیں ہے

زمانے میں بستی اجڑتے رہیں گے

جنوں نے تماشا بنایا ہے ہم کو

دریچوں کے پردے ادھڑتے رہیں گے

کبھی زلف سے ہو سکیں گے نہ سر بر

اسی پیچ سے ہم پچھڑتے رہیں گے

نہ خط بھیجنا ہم سے موقوف ہوگا

کبوتر کی شہہ پر اکھڑتے رہیں گے

جو کچھ ہم نے چاہا انہوں نے نہ چاہا

ہم اس مسئلے میں جھگڑتے رہیں گے

غم و درد زیور ہے ہم عاشقوں کا

نگیں داغ کے دل میں جڑتے رہیں گے

قدم مے کدے سے نہ نکلے گا باہر

یہیں نشہ میں گرتے پڑتے رہیں گے

جدائی میں اے بحرؔ مرنا بھلا ہے

جییں گے تو خفت سے گڑتے رہیں گے
