کتنے بھولے ہوئے نغمات سنانے آئے
پھر ترے خواب مجھے مجھ سے چرانے آئے
پھر دھنک رنگ تمناؤں نے گھیرا مجھ کو
پھر ترے خط مجھے دیوانہ بنانے آئے
پھر تری یاد میں آنکھیں ہوئیں شبنم شبنم
پھر وہی نیند نہ آنے کے زمانے آئے
پھر ترا ذکر کیا باد صبا نے مجھ سے
پھر مرے دل کو دھڑکنے کے بہانے آئے
پھر مرے کاسۂ خالی کا مقدر جاگا
پھر مرے ہاتھ محبت کے خزانے آئے
شرط سیلاب سمونے کی لگا رکھی تھی
اور دو اشک بھی ہم سے نہ چھپانے آئے

phir tera zikr kiya baad-e-saba ne mujh se
phir mere dil ko dhaDakne ke bahane aae
phir mere kasa-e-KHali ka muqaddar jaga
phir mere hath mohabbat ke KHazane aae
shart sailab samone ki laga rakkhi thi
aur do ashk bhi hum se na chhupane aae
