رواں ہے مجھ میں ابھی تک وہ انتقام کی شام
ترے بغیر گزاری جو تیرے نام کی شام
ٹھہر گئی ہے یوں مجھ میں ترے خرام کی شام
کہ جیسے گرد سفر محو ہو قیام کی شام
ستارہ زاد نے جس شب جبیں کو چوما تھا
طویل گزری تھی اس شب کے انتظام کی شام
یہ مصلحت کا تقاضہ ہے یا جنوں میرا
گزار دی ہے سفر میں جو تھی قیام کی شام
جسے زمانۂ توحید صبح کہتا ہے
وہ اصل میں ہے مرے آخری امام کی شام
حقیقی سجدوں کی قیمت بتا گئی ہم کو
وہ زیر تیغ نمازوں کے اہتمام کی شام
وہ کیسے رات میں ہم راہ ہو گیا طارقؔ
وہ ایک خواب ملا تھا جو مجھ سے شام کی شام

Thahar gai hai yun mujh mein tere KHiram ki sham
ki jaise gard-e-safar mahw ho qiyam ki sham
sitara-zad ne jis shab jabin ko chuma tha
tawil guzri thi us shab ke intizam ki sham
ye maslahat ka taqaza hai ya junun mera
guzar di hai safar mein jo thi qiyam ki sham
jise zamana-e-tauhid subh kahta hai
wo asal mein hai mere aaKHiri imam ki sham
haqiqi sajdon ki qimat bata gai hum ko
wo zer-e-tegh namazon ke ehtimam ki sham
wo kaise raat mein hamrah ho gaya 'tariq'
wo ek KHwab mila tha jo mujh se sham ki sham
