درد مندوں سے نہ پوچھو کہ کدھر بیٹھ گئے
تیری مجلس میں غنیمت ہے جدھر بیٹھ گئے
ہے غرض دید سے یاں کام تکلف سے نہیں
خواہ ادھر بیٹھ گئے خواہ ادھر بیٹھ گئے
دیکھا ہووے گا مرے اشک کا طوفاں تم نے
لاکھ دیوار گرے سینکڑوں گھر بیٹھ گئے
کس نظر ناز نے اس باز کو بخشی پرواز
سینکڑوں مرغ ہوا پھاند کے پر بیٹھ گئے
کم ہے آواز ترے کوچہ کے باشندوں کی
نالہ کرنے سے گلے ان کے مگر بیٹھ گئے
مفت اٹھنے کے نہیں یار کے کوچہ سے فقیرؔ
جب کہ بستر کو جما کھول کمر بیٹھ گئے

lakh diwar gire sainkaDon ghar baiTh gae
kis nazar-naz ne us baz ko baKHshi parwaz
sainkaDon murgh hawa phand ke par baiTh gae
kam hai aawaz tere kuche ke bashindon ki
nala karne se gale un ke magar baiTh gae
muft uThne ke nahin yar ke kuche se 'faqir'
jab ki bistar ko jama khol kamar baiTh gae
