ہم شاد رہے ناشاد رہے

بس آپ ہمیشہ یاد رہے

صیاد نشیمن لاکھ اجڑیں

پنجرا تو ترا آباد رہے

وہ تخت پہ بھی مجبور سے ہیں

زنداں میں بھی ہم آزاد رہے

تن قید میں ہو تو کیا پروا

اے قیدی من آزاد رہے

یہ آزادی کیا آزادی

جب گھات میں اک صیاد رہے

یوں محض کرم بھی ٹھیک نہیں

کچھ تھوڑی سی بیداد رہے

قانون قضا سے کون بچا

نمرود رہے شداد رہے

ہم رند پریشاں حال سہی

بس مے خانہ آباد رہے

sayyaad nasheman lakh ujDen
pinjra to tera aabaad rahe

wo taKHt pe bhi majbur se hain
zindan mein bhi hum aazad rahe

tan qaid mein ho to kya parwa
ai qaidi man aazad rahe

ye aazadi kya aazadi
jab ghat mein ek sayyaad rahe

yun mahz karam bhi Thik nahin
kuchh thoDi si bedad rahe

qanun-e-qaza se kaun bacha
namrud rahe shaddad rahe

hum rind-e-pareshan-haal sahi
bas mai-KHana aabaad rahe
