جس کی حسرت تھی اسے پا بھی چکے کھو بھی چکے
اب کسی چیز کا ہم کو نہیں ارماں ہوتا
شدت درد ہی ہوتی کہیں غارت گر ہوش
بخت اتنا تو نہ برہم زن ساماں ہوتا
چارہ گر کوشش بے سود ہے تدبیر علاج
ہم نہ ہوتے تو مرض قابل درماں ہوتا
آ ہی جاتا ہے برے وقت میں اپنوں کو خیال
کوئی ہوتا جو ہمارا بھی تو پرساں ہوتا
پوچھتے کیا ہو سبب دفن دل زار کے بعد
میں مصیبت زدہ اب بھی نہ ہراساں ہوتا
رونے والوں کو تو تقدیر سے رو بیٹھے تھے
اے اجل کون ہمارے لئے گریاں ہوتا
غم کو اب رکھئے کہاں زیست کہیں زیست بھی ہو
ختم قصہ ہوا جس کا کہ یہ عنواں ہوتا
ہم تو اس بات پہ راضی تھے مگر اے ناطقؔ
نفس کافر بھی کسی طرح مسلماں ہوتا

shiddat-e-dard hi hoti kahin ghaarat-gar-e-hosh
baKHt itna to na barham-zan-e-saman hota
chaara-gar koshish-e-be-sud hai tadbir-e-ilaj
hum na hote to maraz qabil-e-darman hota
aa hi jata hai bure waqt mein apnon ko KHayal
koi hota jo hamara bhi to pursan hota
puchhte kya ho sabab dafn-e-dil-e-zar ke baad
main musibat-zada ab bhi na hirasan hota
rone walon ko to taqdir se ro baiThe the
ai ajal kaun hamare liye giryan hota
gham ko ab rakhiye kahan zist kahin zist bhi ho
KHatm qissa hua jis ka ki ye unwan hota
hum to is baat pe raazi the magar ai 'natiq'
nafs-e-kafir bhi kisi tarah musalman hota
