گلیاں اداس کھڑکیاں چپ در کھلے ہوئے

اکتا گیا ہوں میں تو یہ سب دیکھتے ہوئے

ہاتھوں پہ لکھ کے چومتا رہتا ہوں اس کا نام

مدت گزر گئی ہے جسے خط لکھے ہوئے

خوشبو و رنگ آب و ہوا ساز و خامشی

کیا قافلے ہیں دشت خلا میں رکے ہوئے

کچھ پوچھتی ہیں پیڑوں کی سرسبز ٹہنیاں

کچھ کہہ رہے ہیں راہ میں پتے گرے ہوئے

ہاتھوں میں لے کے چلتا ہوں آنکھوں کی مشعلیں

ہر سمت ہیں فضاؤں میں چہرے بنے ہوئے

محتاج ابر و باد ہوئے اہل خاکداں

ہر چند اس زمیں میں تھے دریا چھپے ہوئے

اے ماورائے فکر اب آواز دے کہ ہم

خود سے بچھڑ گئے ہیں تجھے ڈھونڈتے ہوئے
